By Roberto Garabell Camping in itself is a combination of lot of activities like climbing, canoeing, hiking, walking up the hill, fishing etc. While Camping in itself is a synonym for roughing out so many campers do camping in a very basic way with very few necessities. With the changing times many people prefer camping in permanent camps or campgrounds as they provide cabins and other facilities like electricity, heat, and furniture. Nowadays there is trend of specialized camping like hunting camps or children's summer camps.
These campgrounds are made with the special consideration on the age and genre of people coming for camping. Therefore many of these campgrounds have facilities such as fire rings, barbecue grills, shared bathrooms and laundry. They also have access to recreational facilities though it differs for different campsites. Nowadays lot of other facilities are provided to the campers like access to portable hot water, lighting in the tent, comfortable mattresses, compact chairs and solar powered satellite phones. Campers can also take recreational vehicles which come equipped with bathrooms, kitchens, and luxuries like showers, air-conditioning and home theatre systems. Camping is very popular in United States, Britain and Europe where there are hundreds of campgrounds. These campgrounds are mostly privately owned with number of camping sites in a single campground. They have campground season varying from few months in a year to al round the year and have different charges depending upon the amenities you take like hook up, recreational vehicles, power etc. These campgrounds are normally close to national parks and lakes and some also allow pets. Some of the very important things to carry with you while camping are the First aid kit , Hammer to drive tent stakes into soil, Tent, Lantern / flashlight, Sleeping bag, axe /saw for cutting firewood for campfire and fire starter. Other things which are required are Ropes for putting cloths, Insect repellent, Sunscreen lotion, Personal care product and Towel and Trash bags. Everybody should do camping at least once in their lifetime .This experience is one of its kind and very memorable. Camping is a great outdoor activity for recreation.
